How to use this website

The tabs at the top of the page can be used to enter data, view and download stats, and manage your account.


You can enter your monthly NZHC stats at the Enter Data tab. Months with missing data are identified by an orange triangle. Click on the relevant month to begin entering data.


Monthly data is available to view and download at the View Reports tab. Click on a month to access detailed stats. Use the drop-down menu to choose a region and reporting variable. You can also choose to view stats for the custom group you belong to. Use the links on the left to export or download data.


The My Account tab allows you to make changes to your personal information as well as the hotel’s. You can also add a new user here.


Benchmarking

The NZHC Benchmarking statistics are a new resource that we offer to NZHC Members. This resource allows you to benchmark against your competitors, but is done in such a way that yours and their confidential data are not made public at any time to other NZHC members.

Each hotel is assigned a Custom Group to be benchmarked against. This is usually defined by the user as a set of key competitors. NZHC assigns a default set (same region and same star rating band) if no selections were received during registration.


View Reports
The first page shows the three indexes (MPI, ARI & RGI) calculated against the custom group for all available months. If you click on a specific month, you can switch between the standard statistics and the custom group statistics.


To view which properties belong to your custom group, please go to My Account.


Please note: Although every effort has been made to protect the confidentiality of each hotel’s data, Covec Ltd and NZHC accept no liability for the unintended disclosure of confidential information.


Definitions

Data Entry


Room nights available – This value is pre-calculated by the system as total room capacity multiplied by number of days in the month. To amend room capacity, please go to My Account and edit the hotel information.


Room nights occupied – This includes all rooms occupied during the month, including FOC’s.


Total room revenue – This is expressed NZ$ and excludes GST.


Guest nights – “Sleepers”, or the number of person nights spent in your hotel
e.g. one guest staying for 3 nights would generate 3 visitor nights.


Guest arrivals – “New sleepers”, or the number of individual guests that check-in to your hotel.


View Reports


Occupancy Rate – Percentage of available rooms sold in the specified time period.


Average Daily Rate – The average revenue achieved (excl. GST) per room night sold in the specified time period


RevPAR – Revenue Per Available Room


Time Periods
Monthly – One month
Quarter Ending – The 3-month period ending on the specified month
Year to Date – The period which starts in January of the same year and ends on the specified month
Year Ending – The 12-month period ending on the specified month

NB. The time periods above are only available for the Occupancy, ADR and RevPAR statistics (main charts). The market segments data, if available, are only reported for the selected month.
